Q: What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are an exciting new way to extend the length and thickness of your eyelashes. They are applied on a hair-by-hair (lash-by-lash) basis to your own eyelashes for a completely natural look.

Q: How long will eyelash extensions last?
Touch ups are recommended every two weeks after initial full set application to replace any eyelashes that may have fallen out. How long your eyelash extensions will last really depends on two things-how well you follow the aftercare instructions, and your own natural eyelash growth cycle.

Q:  Do eyelash extensions make my natural lashes fall out?
No. Your eyelashes are constantly growing and shedding, just like the hair on your head. An eyelash has a finite life of 60-90 days. They are supposed to fall out. Since they are at different stages of the growth cycle, most people lose 1-3 natural lashes per day on average and never notice it because lashes are so small. Properly applied eyelash extensions do not affect this natural growth cycle but you may notice the shedding more than before because your lashes are darker and thicker with the extensions attached.

Q: Are eyelash extensions safe?
Yes, absolutely! Eyelash extensions are completely safe and painless. The formaldehyde free adhesive is formulated from many of the same products that are included in the new medical suture-less wound closure technology.

Q: Will the eyelash extension procedure hurt?
No, when applied properly, eyelash extensions should be seen but never felt.  The procedure is completely safe and painless. Neither the eyelash extensions nor the adhesive ever touch your skin.

Q: Is everyone a candidate for eyelash extensions?
Most adults are a perfect candidate for lash extensions. However, an individual with any allergies to adhesive, has undergone chemotherapy over the last 6 months, or who does not have natural eyelashes may not have eyelash extensions applied. Q: How long will the eyelash extension procedure take?
The full lash extension application can take anywhere from 1 ½ to 2 hours, depending on the fullness of your natural lashes, and the look you wish to achieve. This is a meticulous procedure that requires patience and concentration; therefore it is important not to rush the process so that you can leave with a prefect set of lashes! You will be relaxing with your eyes closed, and you will feel no pain as this is a non-invasive procedure. Many of our clients are so relaxed they often fall asleep!

Q: Do I need to do anything to prepare for my appointment?
Remove all eye makeup and clean your lashes with mild oil-free cleanser.  Do not use oil-based makeup removers to clean your lashes prior to the application.  Do not put on any mascara.  We do not want to spend time cleaning your lashes-we’d rather spend time working on perfecting your lashes.  If you are a contact-lens wearer, please remove your contact lenses and wear glasses to your appointment – or bring a lens case and remove your contacts upon arrival.

Q: Can I still wear eye makeup?
Yes but most clients don’t even feel the need to wear mascara since the extensions give the lashes the appearance of mascara being worn 24 hours a day, 7 days a week! You can now get out of bed in the morning looking great! No more running, streaking, smudging mascara, which is fantastic for brides on their special day. You maybe even find that you won’t need eyeliner either! However, you can still use eyeliner and eye shadows as usual.  You can wear mascara as long as it is non-waterproof. You must remember to remove your makeup with a product that does not contain oil of any kind, as this will affect the longevity of the adhesive. We recommend that use makeup remover with a Q-tip to gently remove any makeup near your extensions so that you never have to rub your lashes.

Q: If I choose to remove the eyelash extensions will my natural lashes be thinner or shorter.
Properly applied eyelash extensions do not affect the growth of natural lashes before, during or after application. Most people get used to how they look with their eyelash extensions on, though. When their extensions are gone, their natural lashes SEEM so much smaller and thinner because they aren’t used to seeing them bare. It’s a case of perception overriding reality. If you actually measure your lashes before and after, you would find no change.
